I have had horses since I was in high school. They have been a major part of my life for many years, first as a youth, then as an amateur exhibitor, and later as a breeder, trainer, and judge. I value the many friendships I have made and the people I would not have met if not involved with the horses and ponies.
I have travelled nationally as well as to Canada and New Zealand judging, and have had the honor or adjudicating the AMHA World Show, the AMHR National Championships, and ASPC Shetland Congress several times each.
My years of club involvement have been recognized by the various clubs, and I have been honored to receive awards honoring me from our local Valley Sierra Miniature Horse Club (AMHR), a lifetime membership from NorCal Miniature Horse Club (AMHA), and being named to the ASPC/AMHR Peoples Hall of Fame. I served on the Board of Directors of ASPC/AMHR for many years.
Unfortunately, times do change, and so do our lives. The term "Jim Curry Training Center" is no longer accurate as I no longer train for others. JC Tack no longer exists, as I have sold the business as well as the ranch.
Presently, my stallion Ladies Man is leased to Linda and Pat Anastasio of Bellota Miniatures in Escalon, CA. Splash currently has a home at Mini h Farm in Arkansas. These are the only two horses I own at this time. I am still judging and occasionally showing horses and ponies for friends, including JGJ's Jay Mee, ASPC champion halter and driving mare. She is the third generation of horses I have shown. Her sire is Jan's General Jim, ASPC/AMHR, AreaVII and Congress Champion whose sire is AR Major Mischief of Panache, ASPC, a halter champion and driving winner.
In some form or other, horses and ponies will always be part of my life. On this Web site, I am proud to present some examples of what others have accomplished with the animals I bred or used in my breeding program.
